SUMMARY:

The Director of Corporate Quality is responsible for providing leadership to the Quality function at DMP. This includes working with the VP of Operations to establish and continuously improve the DMP Corporate Quality System as well as working with each DMP facility to deepen their competence in quality and ensure consistent execution.

JOB DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ownership of the company’s quality processes and development and deployment of strategic quality, vision, mission, goals, and objectives in conjunction with the company’s strategic plan.
  • Create overall direction for consistent quality methodologies, processes, and procedures across all operations of the company.
  • Provide leadership to the development of standards and the processes needed to support those standards focused on best practice throughout manufacturing and support processes of the plants.
  • Foster an environment led by data, reinforcing capable and robust processes.
  • Develop and implement Lean Manufacturing and 6 sigma continual improvement practices that improve the Corporate Quality System (“The DMP Way”).
  • Taking responsibility to ensure all locations have knowledgeable and effective quality management representatives to oversee continual improvement of quality system standards.
  • Realign resources to support a proactive approach to predict, prevent, and protect the company and its customers from quality performance issues.
  • Participate in the company customer review process when it is conducted for major accounts.
  • Identify and implement training regarding the Quality System for the corporate organization.
  • Work with the VP of Operations to identify equipment/acquire equipment needed to support the quality objectives.
  • Ultimately responsible for resolving all quality related matters with customers.
  • Provide warranty claim assessments, and financial risks to the organization.
  • Responsible for the coordination of customer and 3rd party registrar audits related to the DMP Quality system.

QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or Engineering field and a minimum of eight years quality management experience within a manufacturing environment with multiple facility oversight.
  • Experience in the automotive manufacturing industry / culture as a tier 1 supplier required.
  • Previous experience managing the implementation or maintenance of ISO/TS 16949:2009 and ISO 9001:2008 Quality Systems and ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System required.
  • Prior plastics experience, especially appearance parts preferred.
  • Experience and knowledge of automotive warranty and claims processes and policies.
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma at the Black Belt level or greater preferred.
  • Possess analytical and creative thinking, independent judgment, and the ability to present information and ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Be able to organize his/ her work, anticipating, planning, and monitoring the workload.
  • Previous job experience working directly with customers on quality-related issues.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team player in a diverse work group.
  • Must be willing to pursue continuing education as job requirements dictate.
  • ASQ certification is preferred.
  • Occasional travel (estimated 25%) is required.
